The late inventor Bob Wright spent 25 years developing and improving a reliable, fast and convenient way to securely fasten and unfasten helmet chin-straps. The patented design departs from the "D" ring design standard to most motorcycle helmets, combining a secure, tempered steel metal-to-metal locking mechanism and rugged nylon body. The buckle fits virtually any chin-straps without modification and is known to release smoothly with a firm, two sided squeeze even with gloved hands. It exceeds chin-strap testing requirements of D.O.T. 218, SNELL (M2005) and N.I.J. 0104.02. ECHO Products' new owners said the company will focus on continuity of quality assurance and more robust production facilities, while exploring new applications for the ECHO Quick Release buckle beyond the motorcycle, snowmobile and All-Terrain Vehicle helmet markets.
